Take turns asking yes or no questions of the other players. But…they must answer by either saying “no” while nodding their head, or by saying “yes” while shaking their head. If they mess up they are eliminated. The last person left is the winner.

Silly Milly

Everyone takes turns being “it.” When it’s your turn, think of words or items that have something in common. For instance, words that have double letters in them. Then say “Silly Milly loves lollypops but she hates candy,” “Silly Milly loves giraffes, but she hates horses.” Keep giving clues until someone figures out why Silly Milly loves what she loves.” Some other ideas for Silly Milly: loves things that are green; loves words with five letters; loves words that start with a vowel; loves things that are flat; etc.

License Plate Game

This is a good game for a long car trip. Print out a US map, or give each player a list of all 50 states. Each person tries to find a car with a license plate from every state. Keep track throughout the trip on your map. Whoever finds the most states wins. Or you can do this as a group activity for the whole family.

Slug Bug

Every time a VW Bug comes into view, the first one to see it shouts "Slug Bug!" and slugs (lightly!) the person sitting next to you. Or you can just shout out “Slug Bug!” and not actually do the slugging!
